Grade 7 – Quiz reminder

Just a little reminder that there is a few grade 7’s that need to redo some quizzes we did in class. When we do quizzes we do the frist one in class on paper but if you don’t do well I expect that you redo it. All redo’s can be done online on my website. If you don’t have internet please make an appointment with me and we can find time at lunch or after school, if you prefer to do the quiz redo’s on paper just let me know and schedule a time with me to do it. Also I would think it in your best interest to come and talk to me before hand if you have no clue on what your doing, we can sit down (probably at lunch) and work on the area’s your having problems with. Quiz 2.3 and 2.4 are the ones needing to be redone.

Grade 7 – Quizzes

The grade 7’s have written a quiz in class, and now has been put online. It is expected that if a student didn’t do well on the quiz I want them to redo it online, as many times as it takes. Quizzes can be done as many times as you like, I will take the mean for marks.

We will be having a quiz on Wednesday on section 2.4 followed on Friday with a Unit Exam.

Grade 10 – Quiz

Well we tried something different today and we did our quiz on the computer. It seemed to go smoothly, there was a few questions the students didn’t follow instructions on such as how to submit their answers, therefor they got that question wrong but I fixed it for my records.

Just a reminder quizzes can be done as many times as you like, I will take the mean for marks. Hence I would strongly encourage the students to redo the quiz if they feel they didn’t get the mark they wanted.

Grade 10 – Solving Equations

The grade 10’s have a lot of questions to work on but they have ample time to finish it in. Their math homework is not due until Thursday (October 9) in which I will be marking random questions, around 5 to 10 questions from every page. If you need a little more practice please refer to my website (this page in particular will help the most). The home work is:

Grade 7 – Chapter 2.1

The grade 7’s have started chapter 2, today we worked on section 2.1. With it they have an assignment that needs to be handed in Friday morning. They will have a little time tommorw to finish it. We don’t have class on Friday so the students either need to hand it in on Thursday or Friday before classes begin. If anyone needs me to email them the assignment just let me know.

Grade 7 and Grade 10

The grade 7’s have finished the first chapter on transformations and are now moving on to chapter two in which we will be learning more about decimals, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and estimating…. are a few of the topics in chapter 2. There will be 5 or 6 handouts that will be expected completed by the students, if anyones needs me to email the handouts to them I can do that too.

With the grade 10’s we are flying through the unit on exponents, and are expecting to write a quiz tomorrow and the unit exam on Friday.

Grade 7 – finishing the unit on transformations

The grade 7 will be finishing the unit on transformations in the next couple of days. Handout # 2, which finishes the unit, is due tomorrow and then we will be working on a practice exam (handout # 3) on wednesday with a quiz  and review on thursday and finally finishing the unit on monday with the unit exam (sorry for having it on a monday). That’s the scedule for the next few days. If there is any questions or concerns let me know, also if you need the handouts emailed to you I can do that too.

Grade 10 – EXAM tomorrow

The grade 10 will be having an exam tomorrow on fractions, if you didn’t get a really good mark on the quiz today I would study really hard tonight to be ready for tomorrow. There is a lot of good PowerPoints and other help on my website.

Grade 7 – Section 1.3

Right now the students are working on a handout covering section 1.3 in there textbooks. If you need another copy come and ask or just email me and I can send it to you.
